New Presenting Sponsor Express Scripts Supports Area Youth
PNC Bank, McCarthy Building Company and KMOX Return as Major Sponsors
ST. LOUIS (MO) – January 14, 2011 – GO! St. Louis, a local non-profit organization that specializes in providing fitness events and programs for the St. Louis region on a year-round basis, announced today that sponsor partnerships for the popular GO! St. Louis Marathon & Family Fitness Weekend continue to increase for the upcoming 2011 event, set for April 9 & 10.
Among the new partnerships is a presenting sponsorship for the GO! St. Louis Read, Right & Run Marathon® from Express Scripts. Express Scripts’ contribution will provide support for a program that encourages students to Read 26 books, Right the community with 26 good deeds and Run 26.2 miles over six months. More than 18,000 students will be participating in the program this year, which is in its tenth year.
In addition, long-time sponsors PNC Bank, McCarthy Building Companies and KMOX return as major sponsors, while new sponsors include Big River Running Company (Health & Fitness Expo) and Boeing (Students on the GO!). Marathon Relay presenting sponsor Lockton Companies, 5K presenting sponsor Reliv International and the Missouri Beef Industry Council have all confirmed their support this year.
“We are grateful for the generous support we receive from area companies, which help us continue our mission of community wellness,” said Nancy Lieberman, GO! St. Louis president. The new partnerships formed, along with many long-standing support from sponsors remain strong because we take great pride in presenting events and programs that not only impact the community positively, but are high in overall quality,” she continued.
The GO! St. Louis Family Fitness Weekend is an event that was created for all ages and fitness abilities and features a marathon , half marathon, marathon relay, 5K Run/Walk, GO! St. Louis Read, Right and Run Marathon, Children’s Fun Runs and a Mature Mile. The event started in 2000 and should attract more than 25,000 participants this year.
