On Your Mark, Get Set, Name that Hill!

You’ve heard of Bunker Hill, Heartbreak Hill, Capitol Hill and Beverly Hills, but did you know there is a famous hill right here in St. Louis? The thousands of runners who have participated in the GO! St. Louis Marathon , Half Marathon or Relay, tell the tale about the challenging hill between mile 6.25 and 8, along Olive Street. This year, we are planning a host of special promotions to brand and recognize the challenging hill, in an effort to encourage participants to “embrace the hill” as a fun part of the overall race experience. Runners, St. Louisans and Hill Naming Aficionados can participate by submitting their suggested hill names through email at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or through the Official GO! St. Louis Facebook page. From the submissions, a GO! St. Louis Committee will choose the infamous hill’s new name. The contest starts on August 8 and runs through August 22.
